VERS Wood Iphone Cases

Yes, you read that right – Wooden Iphone cases. As part of an attempt to create an environmentally friendly and eco-aware case for the Iphone, the company VERS has come out with a non-traditional option to save your Iphone and encase it from harm, through the use of wood.

To me, these seem as stylish as they are functional – which is not very much. Although they may be light, the hard cases look awkward and as if they shouldn’t be holding a piece of electronic equipment. As well, it does not seem like wood can provide a high level of protection to the phone.

Through the many finished which are available, there is certainly a high level of choice that comes from choosing the finish and type of wood that you would like – but they just do not seem like the right choice for those trying to protect the Iphone.

At $39.99, the price seems too high for this type of product. I mean, there are many designer inspired cases that are available for this pricing point that would seem more practical while allowing access to the phone while it is in the case, which seemingly these do not.

The cases look as if they can be easily scratched or damaged throughout use and this, combined with the price of the phone is not enticing, so I can safely say that I will find another way to reduce my impact on the environment.
